Four-week independent geological mapping project in the northwest Highlands of Scotland, as the culmination of previous fieldtrips and training throughout the course of my degree.

Web Analyst / Internet Solutions Specialist

Worked initially as a contractor to assist in the development and support of existing Java-based intranet and e-commerce systems. Since being offered a permanent position, the role has expanded to include development on the Microsoft .NET platform. The role also entails some design work and integration with MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases.

MIS & Web Developer / IT Support Analyst

I began work at the Academy as an IT Support Analyst. During 2003, my role switched to that of MIS & Web Developer, with responsibility for the Academy's website, intranets and the MS SQL Server-based student records system.

Most recently, I wrote and taught an introductory course on web site authoring and promotion using XHTML and CSS. I left the Academy to study for an MSc in IT at the University of Glasgow.

Part-time position in the University Library as an I.T. assistant. The work involved answering a wide range of computing-related queries from students. These included difficulties logging in and printing, email and the Web and various Microsoft Office problems.
